EyeFrame Converter also allows you to convert video files to such formats as DNxHD 120, DVCPro100, H264, Matrox I-Frame HD and ProRes HQ and 444. If we want to export the final material in the best quality, we replace the proxy files with the original ones and in this way we will get the final clip in the highest possible quality. EyeFrame Converter offers a proxy creation function (lower resolution and bitrate of the original equivalents), which allows much less painful editing of video content. Additionally, these are the supported video codecs: H.264, MPEG-1, MPEG-2. If the format is still too heavy and the video editing is not as smooth as we would expect, it is worth using the proxy conversion option. The supported format includes Avi, Flv, Gif, Matroska, Mp3, Mp4, Ogg, Opus, WebM.
The Lightworks editor handles very well the real-time processing of Matrox Mpeg2 I-Frame HD format, to which we can convert most of the movies using the EyeFrame Converter application. Therefore, before editing videos, it is worth considering converting files to more efficient formats and better supported by the program. Native support for MOV files imported from DSLR cameras is also not very efficient. The free version of Lightworks does not offer the possibility to import too many video formats.
